Let’s get together to help our SRG brother Paolo

For those who don’t know Paolo, he was an instructor at SRG for many years, he was very passionate about Muaythai when teaching at SRG, he has helped many students to achieve their goals always calm and with a very positive attitude please take a moment to read a bit of Paolo’s story. He now needs our help to go through yet his hardest battle .

 

I wish there was another way to say this but unfortunately there isn't...

I have Cancer.

 

I took this photo 2 months ago when I was admitted to the hospital, here in Sydney.

My face clearly expresses the impact that this news had on my life.

I've been struggling with mental health ever since.

I'm sorry that I had to hide it and that many of you will have to know this way, but it was hard for me to even talk about it, for quite a while.

This is the reason why I haven't been posting or doing much since I arrived in Australia.

Honestly, It has been a horrible time of my life.

I fell into a spiral of depression, anger, shame and hopelessness.

My brain was in a loop of negative thoughts for weeks and I struggled to eat and sleep.

I guess we are never fully ready to face our own mortality.

 

It's funny how the reason that compelled me to leave and travel the world in the first place, came back to haunt me.

Life is indeed ironic.

 

I guess there is a moral on all this:

You can pile up all the wealth in the world and you can plan your life as accurately as you can, but the reality is that OUR TIME HERE IS LIMITED and you never know what tomorrow may bring.

 

We must live the life of our dreams, while we still can.

We need to do what truly makes us happy, regardless of what other people say.

We need to find our purpose in life, by living it.

 

In retrospect, now that I cannot travel anymore, I am so happy that I decided to go around the world with my motorcycle!

It was daring, unconventional, and dangerous but what just happened proved to me once more, that I made the right decision.

I chose to listen to that inner voice and followed my dreams.

 

Anyhow, I am doing fine for now. Mentally, at least.

I will keep you updated during my radio and chemotherapy, which has already started a couple of weeks ago.

 

Thanks to all the people that have helped me already and supported me through this process so far.
