Let's Get Skip Smith Back to His Farm

My name is Cindy Meachum. Francis "Skip" Smith and I have been friends for 45 years since our time together in the Mustang Band at SMU. He was in a terrible head-on collision late last year that left him severely injured.

Skip had a life-long dream of owning a farm and raising animals. He was able to make this dream a reality about 15 years ago. He bought some land south of Dallas and settled into his 'Green Acres' lifestyle.

He started his livestock family with a few goats and cows.

It didn't take long before they were fruitful and multiplied. He even named each and every one of them. The last I heard he had 45 goats and 11 head of cattle. He has also taken in stray cats and dogs when they'd show up on his property.

Skip got into a head-on collision with a pick-up truck not far from his farm and sustained severe injuries. He underwent several surgeries to mend his broken bones and spent almost 60 days in the ICU and hospital.

Just after Christmas, Skip was moved to a skilled nursing facility where he remained for 10 days. He recovered enough to sit up in bed and in a wheelchair but continues to suffer considerable pain.

Presently, Skip is staying with life-long friends until he heals enough to begin rehab.

In addition to medical and rehab bills, he is accruing renovation bills to his home to bring it up to ADA standards.

Skip desperately wants to return to his farm and animal family. Let's help him do this by raising $50,000 to help pay some of his medical, rehab, and home renovation bills.

Thank you very much for your assistance! God bless you!
