Let's Get Sindy Back on the Road

The recent fires in LA have been hard for everyone. For my dear friend Sindy Seal, the fires meant she couldn't work while evacuated. Then, once she got back home after weeks with no income, the reality sank in that 5 of her personal training clients had lost their homes. Other clients left town or had to cancel sessions for other reasons. Even while her heart broke for her clients and friends, this was another serious financial hit for Sindy, who was not able to get fully back to work. With PCH and Topanga Canyon Blvd closed, Sindy is now driving many extra hours to reach clients who used to live nearby. Through it all, Sindy has carried on bravely despite the fear and uncertainty that comes with a sharp reduction in income. And then, at the worst possible time, Sindy's Prius, which had what seemed like minor issues, was discovered to in fact have a cracked gasket. Two experienced mechanics have advised against trying to fix this because of the age of the car and likely additional problems. While it's running now, the car won't smog, and, in short, it's no longer reliable. Sindy needs a new car, but It's an expense she can't cover right now. Without a car, Sindy can't work, plus, as you may know, Sindy's car actually broke down when she was trying to evacuate the day the fires broke out. The current situation is simply not safe for her. Sindy hopes to get another Prius. For a 10 year old car with less than 100K miles, she'll need $10-12,000. My hope is that Sindy's community can come together and help her get past this difficult time. There are so many problems in LA and in the world right now that we can't fix, but this is one we can. Let's get Sindy back on the road and help our dear friend rebuild financially. It would mean the world to Sindy to get some support, and it will inspire us all during this heavy time.
