Let’s get Sara into Remission!

On May 8th, 2015 Sara Moen (Harvala) was diagnosed with breast cancer. She courageously battled this to become cancer free in October of 2015. After a three year journey she ended up finishing the breast reconstruction process in January of 2018.
To catch up with some of the debt they incurred from cancer appointments, treatments, procedures and surgeries; and to be closer to their family and friends, they decided to sell their house in Cambridge, MN to move back home to Detroit Lakes, MN. A year after this move they began the remodel on their new home in Detroit Lakes.
Once they started to pick up the pieces and make plans for the future, life as they knew it changed in the blink of an eye. Sara was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer in her ovaries, liver, bowels and bones, and is currently undergoing weekly chemotherapy treatment in Fargo, ND.
Sara is the wife of Brad Moen and mother to daughters Deanna (23), Alycia (22), Lindsey (16), and Abigale (15). In addition to this, Sara has also worked as an accountant for the last 14+ years, which she is no longer able to do.
While she is grateful to have a strong emotional support system, cancer treatment comes with serious financial concerns and unexpected expenses. Because of this our goal is to raise $30,000 to support Sara and her family during this difficult time.
