Let’s Get Sandy to Cincinnati!!

Friends, one of our own Creswell natives is in a tough situation and needs our prayers and, perhaps, if you are able, a donation that could be life changing.

More than 60 days ago, Sandy Spruill began a medical journey that is nowhere near over. Sandy has endured open heart surgery, over 4 weeks in an ICU bed, intubation, dialysis, chest tubes, tracheotomy, multiple codes, broken ribs and resuscitations. Currently Sandy is on a ventilator and has a feeding tube. But he has never stopped fighting - even his doctors call him stubborn. At every step of this journey Sandy has had his wife of 46 years, Carla, by his side. Together they had made a plan to sell their Lake Phelps home and retire to Ohio to be near their 4 (soon to be 5!) precious grandchildren. And now, the only way to move ahead with that plan, is for Sandy to transfer his care to Cincinnati and continue to fight and begin a lengthy rehab. He and Carla both need the love and support that only family can provide. Problem is, Medicare will not pay to transport outside of NC and this trip alone will cost over $15,000. That’s on top of the other medical and travel expenses. Can we all pitch in together and help our dear friends? If we can defray some of the expense of the transport, then maybe Sandy and Carla can concentrate on the tough work of recovery, of healing, of continuing to put all things in the hands of our Creator. Please pray for Sandy, his wife Carla, and their precious children and grandchildren. We know that God can work miracles and it is to Him we humbly turn.
