My mum has recently been diagnosed with Terminal Bowel Cancer which has been devasting for her and her family and friends, considering how much of her life has been spent caring for others.
For those who dont know, my mum had been a nurse within the NHS for over 45 years before an illness called Tranverse myelitis forced her to take early retirement in 2019. She dedicated her entire career to looking after and caring for people, which also extended to outside of work, always putting the needs of others way before her own needs. Making other people better/happy bought so much joy to mum's heart, it gave her purpose and has always been her quest in life. She even nursed both her parents in their last stages of their lives.
She has given so much of her life to others, that i think now its time we took care of her becuase she truely deserves the best.
I joked with her when she initially went into hospital in March of this year that if it turned out to be cancer, i would shave my hair off in solidarity......and so here we are!
In order to give mum the best possible care, making the most of everyday that she has with us, im asking for you all to donate whatever you can and in return, i will be shaving my hair off on Sunday 28th June 2026
We would like to take her on a little trip away in the summer, to make memories and cherish these days with her, surrounded by her family, along with providing her with any further care she may need along this journey, so anything you can spare will be a huge help to Sandra and her family
