Hey! Many of you may know me, if not, I'm Jeff. If you're here, you probably know my good friend, Ray Armstrong. From family, friends, work, or through various gyms over the years, Ray has left an important mark on us and has, definitely for me, exponentially bettered our lives. I'm making this hoping to help give back for everything he's done for us over the years and help out the most wonderful family, that so many of us are lucky to have been a part of our lives.
What you may not know, is that he's been struggling for the last couple of years with mobility. Frankly, his ankle is absolutely wrecked. He hides it well enough, but he's in a lot of pain constantly. Unfortunately, after many doctor visits and consultations, surgery does not look to be a viable option and the possibility of amputation is terrifyingly real.
The doctor did recommend an amazing brace made by the Hangar Clinic, that might be able to save this situation. I've attached a video down below of what this thing can do and it's seriously amazing. People from all over the country come to this clinic and they've helped so many be able to get back on their feet. Lucky for us too, they're located up in Gig Harbor and should be getting him scheduled, tested, and fitted as soon as possible. Most unlucky for us though, is insurance doesn't cover the brace nor the rehabilitation and training that comes with using it. Not to mention Ray will have to spend at least a few days at their facility and travel, lodging, etc. will soon be mounting. This has become a very large unexpected expense, but the alternative is looking extremely dire. Let's do what we can to help ease this burden for the Armstrongs!
There may have been times when some of us may have jokingly wanted to try and take that foot off in grappling or after he landed a solid kick, but this has become like a bad dream that this could actually happen. We don't want to see Ray walk down the street and wince at every step anymore. We want to see him be able to run and play with his granddaughter. We all want to see Ray have the quality of life that he deserves. Anything that you can give to help achieve our goal will be so appreciated by his family and all his loved ones.
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out.
Thank you!
