- Hey y'all, I'm Josh, son of Johnny. My dad is an adventurer, traveling from one corner of the country to the other. Through force of will and patience and ingenuity, with trials and heartbreak all along the way, he's forged for himself a nomadic way of life. Dad moves, that's just what he does. He's got a wanderlust like no other. But for him that's always had an extra element of difficulty, compared to the rest of us. He is a disabled man, as independent as they come, but nonetheless a survivor of polio and post polio syndrome. He walked on crutches for fully the first half of his life, then his shoulders began to give out from the strain, and finally he broke his femur and ended up in the chair. He prefers four wheelers because well he's a rider! They're the next best thing to the go carts he used to race when he was young. Back in 2017, Hurricane Harvey made landfall right on top of his home in Fulton, TX. Thankfully he and his wife Pam, and even their pups, kitties and chickens, made it out unscathed, but the property was obliterated. So it was that their van life began. Dad converted his old Dodge into rolling living quarters. Battery powered inverter, solar, the works. It's a simple life, but he's got all the creature comforts he'd ever need, because my dad's an uncomplicated man. But he had to scrape to make it happen. He can't really work like the rest of us and so gets by on his disability pay alone. He scrapes but as in all of his life, he makes the best of it. Tragically, Pam lost her unfairly brief fight against lung cancer on New Year's morning 2021. With her passing, my dad lost the love of his life, his best friend, his arms and legs. Now his struggles are compounded, because that wanderlust won't let go! But now his lady is no longer here to help him experience all our beloved nation has to offer. So I come to you now to help me fulfill a dream I've had for him for years. I've found the baddest, meanest, most capable and customizable off-road scooter money can buy. It will allow my pops to break free from the beaten path, to overcome the fact that the most beautiful aspects of nature in this fine country of ours are completely inaccessible to him. If you can find it in your heart and wallet to spare some generosity for him, I will be forever grateful to you, and you'll be giving my dad a chance at the kind of adventure he's never experienced, the kind that few of us ever do.
