Let’s get Our Athletes to Nationals

Rio Linda residents, Kathryn Hingano and Akeem Newsom, have both qualified to represent Team California at the 2023 National Wrestling Championships this July in Fargo, ND.

Both wrestlers have worked hard on and off the mat to earn this prestigious opportunity. Kathryn Hingano (C/O ‘24) has a cumulative 4.3 GPA, maintains a part-time job, and placed 2nd as a junior in the State of California. Akeem Newsom (C/O ‘26) has a cumulative 4.0 GPA, and recently placed 2nd at the Western Regional Championships in Farmington, UT.

While their credentials are impressive, neither wrestler will be able to reach their full potential without your financial support. Please help us to provide a once in a lifetime opportunity to two deserving student-athletes as they reach for their dreams and solidify their futures. Anticipated expenses are itemized below. Kathryn Hingano ($2,150 minimum)

Entry, lodging, and meals = $1,250

Round-trip airfare = $900

Akeem Newsom ($2,350 minimum)

Entry, lodging, and meals = $1,250

Round-trip airfare = $1,100***

***Boys and girls compete on different days; Akeem will fly in on Friday, which increases flight cost.

NOTE: ALL DONATIONS WILL BE SPLIT 50/50. Any overage will be given to the wrestlers to spend at their discretion.
