The loudest and proudest softball dad we know, Mike Mounts, has cheered on his girls since the day they were just barely bigger than a softball. He’s cheered for his whole team of softball girls. He’s talked them out of their crying fits after bad plays, screamed louder than anyone I’ve ever heard when they’ve smacked it over the fence, and he’s given them the tools to help them succeed in the game and in life. Mike spends hours with our girls every week. He spends weekends at a time with a trailer full of girls headed out of town for softball. He’s always doing and always helping everyone he can. I know softball isn’t his whole life, but it’s the part of his life that my family is blessed to know. He’s a good person and if I have a battle to fight, I want him in MY corner because he’s one of the toughest guys I know.

Right now, Mike is fighting a medical battle that has suddenly and unexpectedly landed him in the ICU. He’s a private person. His medical information is not mine to share. He unexpectedly got sick, and he NEEDS us rallying around him. He needs every good vibe and every prayer that you can send. He needs us to be his cheerleaders as he fights to get better. Mike is not asking for anything. His wife isn’t asking for anything.

I know that while Mike is fighting to get better, and Kim is by his side, life and bills will not stop coming. What I want, and what we all want, is for her to be able to be by her sweetheart’s side and focus on him getting better instead of the mortgage and bills that will start to come.

If Mike has ever texted you and made your day better, teased you and made you laugh, fist bumped you or your kid after a good play or awful play, helped you in ANY way, or you know for certain that he would have your back in a second: Please consider donating whatever you can. If you aren’t able to do that, please wish- with everything you have- that Mike is back to his bada** self soon.

Mike is a proud person. I know he may worry about receiving help since he is usually the helper. I’ll say sorry later. Let’s please let his wife focus on him and their family while he recovers.

Kim has been by Mike’s side- through thick and thin, in sickness and in health, and our hope is that as she ventures into this journey with Mike – into the unknown- she will feel loved and supported. If you can’t help, we understand and appreciate you sending whatever healing energy you can. I’ve asked Kim several times what she needs- and she says the same thing every time, “For Mike to get better and come home.” While she’s working on helping him, let’s help her by providing financial support for whatever needs come up. All funds will go directly to Kim and Mike to help with whatever they need.
