Hi everyone my name is Karen and I am organising a fundraiser for my Mam Margaret. Mam suffered an acute stroke in May 2021 and has been in hospital since. Since the stroke Mam has been suffering from full right side paralysis. Mam is currently in the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoghaire having extensive rehabilitation however it has become apparent that Mam is going to be a wheelchair user on her discharge.

Given the level of need Mam has as result of her injuries we need to purchase wheelchair accessible transport and all associated equipment to safely transport Mam to ensure that she can continue to be part of her family and community. We also need to be able to facilitate ongoing appointments which will be a necessity for Mam upon discharge.
