Hey Heyyy!!
It's me, Makayla Hernandez! My 8th grade class is planning a trip to Washington DC and New York City during Spring Break 2023 and I am hoping to raise money to help me get there. I am the 8th grade Vice President of my middle school and I am very involved with all events campuswide. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to see history come to life, and I know it's an experience I will never forget.
My biggest passion is being a competitive dancer. And my parents support this passion...but it is a very expensive commitment. That's why I'd really like to raise the money to help me get to DC and New York.
On the trip our class is planning on visiting these incredible sites:
- Arlington National Cemetery
- The US Capitol
- Supreme Court
- Mount Vernon
- Lincoln Memorial
- Vietnam Veterans Memorial
- Washington Monument
- The White House
- Rockefeller Center
- Times Square
- Grand Central Park
- Empire State Building
- 9/11 Memorial Museum
- AND to see a Broadway show!!
My sister, Brooklynn, went on this trip when she was in 8th grade, and it really was a transformative experience. And I have been looking forward to going since hearing and seeing all of her memories from the trip. Her and her friends still talk about that trip to this day!
I promise to share photos and stories from the experience and make every moment count!
