Let's get Lisa back on the road

Donation protected
Hi, this is Maj-Britt and I'm raising funds for my good friend Lisa, whose car was recently totaled. In a recent phone conversation I suggested that she do a Go Fund Me page. She immediately said, no way. We all have our pride, I get that. Nevertheless I persisted. Why? I used to lament that no one had helped me when I most needed it. Not saying Lisa does that, but I did. Then, one day, well into my forties, thanks to an inventory in a spiritual program, I realized I was wrong. SO MANY people have helped me, throughout my life. Wow, so much resentment exploded in a cloud of dust.
Nevertheless I have trouble ASKING for help. In this country, (and in my family) we were taught to take pride in individual accomplishment. As if we could do anything alone. In fact we are, as you probably already know, totally interdependent. In fact we depend on each other. I know that Lisa has helped numerous people through their life's challenges, including me. It just happens to be her turn in the circle of life.
So I am going to jumpstart this Go Fund Me, with a healthy contribution.
I hope you will donate too. Any amount, whatever the amount, is enough.

Let's get our friend Lisa some wheels so she can keep on working and making her meetings, and hey, having a little fun too.
Now I'll shut up and let Lisa speak. Here's what she wrote:

A very important person in my life suggested to me that I should consider starting a GFM to help me deal with my current unfortunate circumstances. At first mention, I felt embarrassed to even consider this. I had to sleep on it.
Mostly, I know I am just so grateful to have survived this car accident which totaled my Toyota Camry three weeks ago. Luckily for me I only had minor injuries which I was amazed to see because my airbags did not deploy.
Unfortunately, as my car was 19 years old I did not opt in for collision coverage. In addition, I rear ended someone so I'm at fault. Because of this I'm SOL in the insurance department. Fast forward, current situation-- I am a 66 year old woman who is semi-retired and living on a fixed income. My budget is tight to say the least.
I am struggling to get a new vehicle under me. I'm not looking for fancy, just safe, economical and dependable. I need to get me and my folks to AA meetings, do my errands and those for my vets I work with. Of course, the beach days of summer are upon us and I don't want to miss all the upcoming festivities either.
If you can find a way to help me reach my goal in any small way, it will be so greatly appreciated.
In peace and gratitude,
Lisa
