Let's Get Josh Walking Again!

Hi! My name is Michelle. I created this fundraiser to help my son Josh walk again. As many of you know on January 1, 2020 Josh had a grand mal seizure that broke his femur bone. The doctor who reset his broken bone set it incorrectly. We were in the beginning of Covid, and it took 10 months and another hospital to rebreak Josh's leg and reset it, so he could use it again. He was able to walk with a walker before the accident, but because he had to wait so long to have his leg fixed he can no longer walk or even weight bear. We tried to get him into physical therapy, but he aged out of pediatrics during covid and we couldn't find any therapy center willing to treat him.

Josh has a rare chromosomal deletion called 1p36 deletion syndrome. We are learning as he ages out of pediatrics that many in the medical community find it acceptable to not treat adults with special needs. It has been eye opening and heart breaking. My son needs help. It shouldn't be this difficult to get him what he needs, but here we are.

Josh has been accepted to an intensive therapy program in Florida. The trip will cost us $10,000 for 3 weeks of therapy and a place to stay. I am a single mom trying to do what's best for my son.
