Honeybear's recovery fund!

Hi, Laura here from Bat Fangs. I'm hoping we can help Betsy pay for the extravagant expenses for Honeybear's emergency surgery and care. It's been a very traumatic time for her and Betsy, and any help would be appreciated.

Last week Honeybear was on a walk in the woods with Betsy when out of nowhere another dog hastily ran over to Honeybear and brutally attacked her. During the attack, she was bitten repeatedly then rushed to her vet for care. Ultimately the wound was much worse than what was originally thought, and after being stitched up and fitted with drains, she had to be driven out of state to the closest 24hr animal hospital in Connecticut where she underwent another surgery to treat a major infection that left her stitched up again with a footlong incision and drainage drip. She would have died from sepsis had they not gotten there when they did. Finally, after spending five days in the animal hospital she got to go home, and is making considerable progress in her recovery! Needless to say, it was touch and go there for a bit...

The cost of the treatment from the original vet, plus the animal hospital exceeds $10,000, and there will certainly be more expenses to come from the injury.

If you haven't met Honeybear, trust me you would fall in love with her. She is 13 going on 3 on a scale of fun and is very athletic when she's at her best. Not joking...she is a star soccer player and could be famous for her skills. Most of all she's Betsy's angel baby, and the bond they have is unbreakable! xoxo
