My sweet, vivacious daughter, Evan Elisabeth, was accepted into the theater program at Fordham University in New York City. Her ultimate dream is to be on Broadway someday singing and acting her heart out.
I'm her mom, Laura Cain, and I will go to the ends of the earth to get her there. I will do absolutely everything in my power to make sure Evan gets to experience her freshman year at a college she loves, studying what she was made for, but we are struggling.
She has worked so very hard this year while dealing with a really difficult family situation. Ev's father is not in the picture and hasn't been for the last few years. Without his ruining his privacy, just suffice to say it's sad and it's frustrating and it's very painful for her and for her siblings.
The cost of tuition, housing, airfare, food, and books is all on me. I'm trying to get her there but I have no savings, and no 401K. I don't own a home and my credit is shot due to years of trying to make ends meet being a single mom of two kids. I was unable to get a loan. Plus, I already have a first-year loan for my other child, Charlie, that I start paying on in the next few months.
I don't come from money, and neither does the rest of my family. Believe me, if my mother had the means she would help me out. But, she doesn't. So, here I am, asking for help at the urging of my friends. I know this is supposed to be for people who need help to pay for funerals and cancer treatments. I just thought I would give this a try. Any and all the money raised will go directly to Evan. She is so good with money, she'll allocate the funds where she needs them. Tuition is first and foremost, though.
