Hi everyone, my name is Eseroghene Oguma — I’m a Nigerian sports media entrepreneur, athlete, and storyteller deeply passionate about sharing African athletic talents with the world.
For the past few years, I’ve dedicated myself to telling the stories of rising athletes, especially from Africa, who often go unnoticed on the global stage. I’ve covered prestigious events like the World U20 Championships (three times), African Championships, NCAA Outdoor Championships, NAIA Indoor Championships and the Nike Indoor Nationals to name a few — and this summer, I’ve been officially accredited to cover one of the biggest global sporting events: The World Athletics Championships in Tokyo which holds Sept 13-21st.
But I need your help to get there.
Covering this event is not just a dream come true — it’s an opportunity to showcase African excellence, spotlight unsung talents, and create world-class content that inspires future generations.
For years, I’ve self-funded these trips or leaned on close friends and family who believe in the mission. But this Tokyo trip is the biggest one yet, and I can’t do it alone.
I'm reaching out to you—my community—to help make this dream a reality. Your support will go directly toward:
Flight to Tokyo
Accommodation for the duration
Feeding
Local transport & essentials
I’m asking for your support to make this journey a reality. Whether it’s $10 or $100, every bit brings me closer to Tokyo — and to fulfilling a mission much bigger than myself.
Your contribution won’t just help me get there — it will empower me to:
Interview and feature African athletes in a way global media often doesn't
Build content partnerships with brands to increase African representation
Create daily behind-the-scenes coverage to engage fans around the world
You can also support via Zelle, CashApp, PayPal, or even in Naira:

If you can’t donate right now, a share would go a long way. Thank you for believing in the power of storytelling, and in this dream of putting African athletics on the global map — one championship at a time.
You can follow my social media pages @eseoguma on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. I will be making periodic updates as we approach the goal.
