Let's get Dave a new mobility scooter! (Stolen)

Hi, my name is Dylan, and I have a very special request. I am looking to raise enough money to purchase Dave Olson a new mobility scooter and pay his car insurance deductible for his rear car window.

For those of you that don't know Dave, allow me to get sentimental for a little bit:

TL;DR: Dave is my one call if I ever get thrown in jail type of friend.

Dave Olson has been a best friend of mine going on 10 years now. I met Dave at a particularly turbulent time in my life. Through our friendship, Dave quite literally changed my whole perspective. I'm not even sure he knows how much he got me through, much less how dramatically he helped me grow as a person. Oh and did I mention he taught me everything I know about my favorite hobby: music production? That too. Between the countless hours of teaching and mentoring in music, some of the hardest laughs i've ever laughed, a listening ear to all of my life's woes, and the gift of some of the best advice I've ever received, I firmly believe Dave is one of the best friends this world can offer. Dave is patient with everyone. Dave gives the most grace to people, which is why it makes me sad to see things like this happen.

Dave struggles with mobility issues due to Diastrophic Dysplasia. Over the years of working together, I have seen Dave go to many different doctors and try many different mobility support devices for getting around the city, video shoots, etc. Within the last couple years, Dave purchased this scooter (RIP):

and I can say from first-hand experience that it has helped immensely in his ability to get around and managing the associated general pain levels. Here is a video of Dave helping me purchase fake plants at IKEA utilizing the (now stolen) scooter:

So...what happened?!

Someone decided to break into the Olson's family car and steal his mobility scooter. As Dave jokingly says "If anyone sees someone rolling down the block on one of these at 3MPH let them know there's probably some pretty bad karma associated with stealing someone's wheelchair!"

Unfortunately, the insurance deductible outweighs the cost of getting a new one...so this will have to be an out-of-pocket expense.

The Ask:

I am looking to raise about $1,250 to cover the cost of replacing Dave's scooter and his car insurance deductible for getting the back window replaced on his vehicle. Here is a link to the replacement scooter: Link to scooter
