Emerging Socceroo's Trials:
Gippsland United Football Club are proud that two of our emerging junior players have been selected as part of the Victorian teams that will be participating in the national championships from the 18th of April 2026 to 24th of April 2026 in Sydney.
From these Championships the U15s and U16s Emerging Socceroo's squads will be chosen.
Clay Diston-McCann is an exciting striker who has presence on the pitch and in the mix for the U16s Emerging Socceroo's Squad. Clay originally started his Soccer Journey with Traralgon Olympians SC.
Johnny Sullyman is winger/multi position player that has been selected for the U15s Victorian team and also in the mix for U15s Emerging Socceroo's squad. Johnny was formally a junior player with Sale United FC.
The last local player to play for Australia as a young Socceroo was Clayton Bell, and it is exciting to see two potential local prospects in with an opportunity.
Unfortunately, the boys need to fund this journey themselves, and it is not cheap, GUFC is helping out where they can and also calling potential sponsors to assist the boys turn their dreams into reality.
Both the boys need to pay a deposit by the end of this week to secure their spots... so we need to move fast.
All Funds raised will be used to cover airfares, accommodation and associated cost for the boys. All funds raised will be deposited to the clubs account for even distribution to the two players families.
Any contribution would be greatly appreciated, we are asking the Gippsland Soccer Community to come together and support these two boys, we know we have talent in Gippsland and we need to make sure they are given the opportunity to shine.
