My name is Donna and I’m fundraising for Christian Walker, an amazing high school senior and pianist who was just accepted to his dream school, Clemson University. When Christian was diagnosed with autism at the age of 2, his mom was told he’d never even attend a regular school and that she would have to institutionalize him one day. She chose to believe that God had something different in store for him and that he was infinitely capable of more than the limits that were placed on him at such a young age.
Through faith, advocacy, hard work, intensive therapies, and medical interventions, Christian has been accepted to Clemson University who not only has a world-renowned performing arts college, but is also one of the most inclusive schools in the country. Christian will be a part of their Spectrum program that provides individualized academic, social, transition, and career support for Clemson students with autism.
However, Christian and his mom Terra need help to make attending Clemson a reality. Therapies and specialized treatment is very expensive, and as a single mother, Terra made it happen but was not able to save for college at the same time. We want to see Christian continue to soar and prove the possible for others but he needs about $224,000 ($56,000 per year for 4 years of out-of-state tuition, fees, room and board, books and supplies) plus $24,000 ($6,000 per year) to participate in the Spectrum program.
Please consider donating to Christian’s Cause or at least sharing it with your friends and family. Christian is a true inspiration and will continue to prove what is possible in college and beyond.
