In November 2022, our Cherie had a very nasty accident doing what she loves, riding her beautiful horse Souqi in the forest.

Cherie suffered some very serious head injuries that incredibly she survived. Cherie was in a coma for 2 weeks. The accident resulted in 2 skull fractures (now has a plate) broken eye sockets, jaw, nose, teeth/dental damage and a weaker left side of her body. Cherie says her brain doesn't process things like before and she struggles to concentrate and focus. Loud social situations are hard to cope with and she suffers debilitating fatigue from any physical, social and emotional situation and just has a feeling of being lost in general.

In true Cherie style (endurance riders are extra tough), she has fought every step of the way and is not letting anything get in the way of her recovery. Cherie says she is always looking for the good in every day to keep positive. She has re-learned how to eat, drink and walk again but still has a way to go.

The medical bills and ongoing rehabilitation costs will be substantial.
