Let’s get Carlos Fishing Again!
Fisherman always have this unique way of taking care of each other, regardless of home port, we are all part of one huge global community, bound by water… Carlos Cota Lucero is a local Panga Capt fishing out of Puerto Los Cabos. Unfortunately, caught in a freak storm Tuesday August 25th, Carlos lost his Panga, all of his fishing equipment, his favorite Moyes and Crane lures, and almost his life after the waves and 50 knot winds became too much for his small boat. Fortunately, Carlos was able to tread water and swim for about an hour and a half and made it through the ordeal with his life.
If you’ve ever fished with Carlos on his Panga, or had him onboard with you, I am certain you had a day to remember, he has fished and worked for me on both my Ocean Master and my Freeman and we have shared some special memories together.
Sadly, Now that Carlos’s Panga is gone, so is source of income for his family consisting of himself and 2 young daughters and his lovely wife. Having gotten to know Carlos well over the past 3 seasons in Cabo, you could not ask for a better human being or better friend. He is as hard working as they come and a true Waterman
This loss has left Carlos in serious financial hardship. The boat, Sufishiente, isn’t just a vessel; it’s his livelihood and the way he provides for his family whether providing income from charters or fish for his family’s table on the off charter days.
We’re asking for your help to get Carlos fishing again — to replace his lost boat and gear.
Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real difference in helping a really good man get back on the water in a new boat.
Let’s work together to get Carlos back out there. I am also planning on putting together a trip to my home in Cabo and 2 days of fishing on my Freeman to benefit Carlos but haven't quite sorted out how to do so on FB, stay tuned...
Thank You!
