Let’s Get Brian Woods a PC Fundraiser.

As many of you know, I participate in a few marching bands. The primary one is the Italian American Marching Band. When I joined the band, I was greeted warmly by trombone player and all-around good guy, Owen Woods (ok, some of his jokes aren’t so good, but that’s another reason we are friends).

5 years ago, Owen lost his wife. When he called his son, Brian, to share the loss with him, the stress of the loss of his mother resulted in Brian suffering a stroke.

With rehab and a lot of self-determination, Brian has done better than the expectations the medical community had first predicted. However, Brian does not have full mobility of his limbs and is essentially housebound.

Brian feels that he, at 54, still has a lot he can give to his community and would like to acquire:

A Laptop PC

Applicable software including virus software

Internet access

A left-handed mouse

A printer

Brian believes he can find remote work/volunteer opportunities with this hardware, and it will also allow him to join online support groups and other groups that share his interests.

At this time, Owen is unable to provide all these things for his son, and knowing how I would feel if my kid(s) were in a similar situation, I felt that starting this fundraiser was the least I could do for my friend. Will you please join me in helping a good guy help his beloved son?
