Lets Get Bliss New Lungs!

My name is Meg, and I am honored to be fundraising on behalf of Bliss

Harris, my lifelong best friend’s (Labe Peters Harris) youngest daughter.

The lives of this sweet family were forever changed on October 22, and when otherwise healthy, Bliss was admitted to the Children’s (Hospital) of Alabama with Parainfluenza & RSV. Labe and Eric (Bliss’ father) watched in horror as their baby girl fought for each breath and was placed on a ventilator.

Many days later, with little change in her lung function, Bliss was started on an ECMO machine to improve her oxygen exchange, allow her lungs to heal, and ultimately save her life.

She has been in the PICU for over 50 days, and her doctors have now determined she must travel via specialized medical jet to Cincinnati, Ohio, to undergo a double lung transplant, leaving as soon as possible.

Bliss is the sweetest, most loving, charismatic, free-spirited little girl I’ve ever known. To know her is to love her! Firm believers in Jesus Christ, Labe, Eric and big sister, Brantley, trust Him to guide and sustain them as He heals their precious Bliss. However, the lengthy stay in the PICU and ECMO costs are staggering, not to mention the daunting upcoming costs for Bliss’ care in Ohio for the months before, during and after the transplant.

The Harris and Peters families are selfless and are unaware that this fundraiser is being established. They have been such blessings to many of us over the years.
