Let's Get Allen Walking Again!

Hi, my name is Amy, and I am one of the managers and piercing apprentices here at The Dolorosa. I am doing this fundraiser for my mentor and our good friend Allen Dabbs.

On Thanksgiving night Allen was involved in a single-vehicle motorcycle accident that completely shattered his knee. He slipped on some sand/gravel and went down at a fork in the road. He’s been in the hospital since Thursday night. He currently has pins in his leg and a fixation device and is in a lot of pain.

Allen has a wife, Tara, and a year-and-a-half-year-old daughter named Ailbhe. Tara isn’t able to visit Allen because she can’t find anyone to watch Ailbhe while she visits. And Ailbhe can’t go to the hospital for a visit because she’s under 12.

While Allen has insurance on the motorcycle, they will only cover a portion of the hospital bills. Allen is looking at a hospital bill and physical therapy of around $250,000

Allen has a long road to recovery and will be looking at a long time before he starts walking again. This can be especially difficult because after three weddings that he and Tara have had to cancel, they were finally going to walk down the aisle in May. But only with physical therapy and help. Let’s get Allen back to walking before his wedding in May!

Allen does so much for so many people and works hard daily for everyone. He loves his family, clients, co-workers, and job and enjoys making people happy. Let’s show him how much we love and care and help him on his road to recovery.
