Let's End Oppression In the Women of Kenya 2025

Hi, my name is Laurie Leiding. I have a heart to encourage and inspire poverty stricken women in the nations. My goal is to help teach the women that their mindsets need to change. New mindsets can be very powerful and create new and successful jobs and other opportunities that can in turn change whole communities.

I have been invited as a guest speaker in at a Women’s Conference in Bungoma, Kenya. Bungoma has a population of approx. 68,000 people.

I will be teaching and ministering to approx. 300 women who will be coming from Tanzania, Uganda and Kenya for 3 days.

The Women's Conference will be from January 9th-11th, 2025. I’ll be sharing my testimony and teaching about finding new hope and courage through today’s challenges. I believe that each challenge is there to make us stronger and to use what we’ve learned and have overcome, to help others overcome their own challenges.

Many African women struggle with oppression and depression and I’ve had to face my own struggles in this area and part of my call in life is to inspire women to rise up above their own storms and face each giant as it comes. Nothing is impossible with Christ Jesus who is our giant slayer.

I am asking for your support in helping us provide three meals a day for the 300 women. I will need to rent a car for the duration of my time in Kenya, taking me to and fro the conference. It was also decided this is the best way to protect me and the team as we travel daily.

I would also love to bless each woman with a small gift bag.

Isaiah 58:7-11

7 Is it not to share your food with the hungry

and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter—

when you see the naked, to clothe them,

and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?

8 Then your light will break forth like the dawn,

and your healing will quickly appear;

then your righteousness[a] will go before you,

and the glory of the Lord will be your rear guard.

9 Then you will call, and the Lord will answer;

you will cry for help, and he will say: Here am I.

“If you do away with the yoke of oppression,

with the pointing finger and malicious talk,

10 and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry

and satisfy the needs of the oppressed,

then your light will rise in the darkness,

and your night will become like the noonday.

11 The Lord will guide you always;

he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land

and will strengthen your frame.
