Let's Double the Pickleball Fun at Skypark!
Donation protected
I'm Mike Sullivan, a 25-year Santa Cruz resident and a newly appointed member of the Santa Cruz Pickleball Club (SCPC) board of directors. I love playing pickleball (PB) with everyone, and I'm coordinating this "Go Fund Me" campaign for everyone who wants to make Skypark in Scotts Valley an even better and more inclusive place to play ball.
You know there are four permanent nets at Skypark and four "dual-use" PB courts shared with tennis players. These additional four courts are useless for PB unless you can afford your own net and are happy to transport it from your home, lug it from car to court and back, and set it up and break it down every time you play. The set-up and breakdown creates court wear and tear and turns precious play time into work time.
This campaign will purchase and install 4 "Dominator Pro" net systems that are easily rolled into position for pickleball and back to the sidelines for tennis. (https://pickleballcentral.com/dominator-pro-portable-pickleball-net/) These "competition caliber" systems cost $899 each and earn "5-star" ratings from users across the country. They are higher in quality and durability than other rolling nets currently used in Santa Cruz-area public parks. For our combined gift of $3,947 (systems plus sales tax), Skypark will become a great place for every member of the community to have up to 8 high-quality courts to play on -- and make it fast and easy to switch between pickleball and tennis.
I've made a donation and hope you'll join me in making a gift in the spirit of more PB happiness for everyone. I will collect the proceeds, and SCPC volunteers will install the nets and coordinate with Scotts Valley Parks & Rec on signage to help users know where to park the nets between use. If we don't reach our goal, you'll be refunded -- but I believe we will do this!
Thank you for doubling the pickleball fun at Skypark -- for everyone!
p.s. Thanks to amazing day-1 generosity and momentum, we've raised our goal from $2,019 to $3,947 and upgraded our net ambitions from PickleNet Deluxe systems ($459.95) to Dominator Pro systems ($899.00) which create a more professional playing experience and longer lifetime.
