Let's Do It For Layla
Donation protected
Layla Kelly, from Kilfenora and a student of Kilnaboy National School Co. Clare is a bright, beautiful and determined 12 year old who has been bravely fighting an extremely rare and aggressive cancer, Adrenocortical Carcinoma, since 2023.
What started as back pain and fatigue when Layla was just nine, turned into a devastating diagnosis. She has endured two major surgeries, where her adrenal gland, a kidney and a section of her liver were removed along with the tumours. She has undergone months of gruelling chemotherapy, and spent almost seven consecutive months in hospital.
Earlier this year, scans revealed another more aggressive tumour. She began immunotherapy but unfortunately, her body rejected it after 2 rounds of treatment. Once again Layla became very sick. As a result of this, her medical team have decided that Layla needs a very complex, lifesaving surgery, which can only be done by a select group of specialist surgeons in the Netherlands.
Layla has faced every challenge with courage, determination, and a smile, and her parents, Teresa & Brian are so very proud of her. Layla dreams of getting back to school, playing sport again, and being the big sister to her younger siblings, Jack (9) and Alannah (5).
Family and Friends of Layla would truly appreciate it if you could support us in our campaign. Your donations will go directly towards:
Layla’s treatments, medications and future support.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your generosity, prayers, and support.
