Let's come together to support Melody!

Hi, I'm McCall McPherson, Melody's friend and colleague at Modern Thyroid Clinic and her head cheerleader! I am writing you with some pretty important news and asking for some support from you. One of our most dear people is and has been in a significant struggle over the last couple of years. After a year of symptoms, Melody, our long-time friend and nurse practitioner was diagnosed with a brain tumor in the fall of 2022. Obviously, the last year has been a whirlwind of emotion, a time looking for answers, and a period trying to develop a plan - it’s been a lot.

For those of you who know Melody you know she is literally the most caring and compassionate clinician, an absolutely outstanding mama to her three young kiddos, and a very dear friend.

We are holding her and her family close in this time and want to support her in every way we can. I am reaching out to you all today to first and foremost share this news with you. I know so many of you are her friends, family and patients, and have a deep and meaningful relationship with her. I ask that you too send her support in whatever way possible, if you pray, please do, if you can send her good vibes and love, we’ll take that as well. Additionally, I am setting up a GoFundMe for her and her family to be able to take whatever time is needed during this process without the extra burden of finances on them.

Many of us know the power of alternative and complementary treatments and I do not want something so fleeting as money to keep Melody from getting the best access to care. I ask that if you're able to donate, please do.

I want to also share with you that Melody plans to undergo surgery in late September. Of course, we will keep you posted here as things develop and as the surgery date gets closer. I'm so hopeful we can show Melody the love and support she freely offers so many people in her life.

Melody has decided to specifically share this news with all of you. It is something she isn't ready to share publicly as her sweet little family is still trying to navigate all of this. I ask that for the time being, you not publicly share this on social media. <3
