To protect her privacy we won't be sharing all of the details of Jess' story...On August 20th 2019 life changed for Jess. She noticed something was "off" with one of her pupils so she immediately sought to find out why her body was acting out. Her search to find an answer led her to long nights at a number of different hospitals, numerous doctors visits, a load of stress, and enormous bills. Doctors diagnosed her with Horners Syndrome - "The underlying causes of Horner's syndrome vary greatly and may include a tumor, stroke, injury, or underlying disease affecting the areas surrounding the sympathetic nerves." so you can imagine this didn't lead to any relief. Now she was tasked with finding out WHAT caused her Horner's Syndrome. Through the past 6 months, her patience has been admirable, and her persistence to follow her instincts led her to some unfortunate news.
Jess has been diagnosed with Nodular sclerosis classical Hodgkin lymphoma. She will be going through chemotherapy treatments, along with radiation, and meeting with fertility doctors to discuss options so that these newlyweds will be able to start a family some day and have this behind them.
Although Doctors are optimistic with treatment her lymphoma will be cured, the next several months will be emotionally, physically, and financially draining for Jess and her family. The hospital stays, tests, and appointments up until this point have cost them thousands. No one fighting for their life should have the added anxiety around medical bills. Please consider making a donation to Jess and Josh, every little bit helps. Personally, I have faith Jess will come out of this stronger than ever. Please share this page as often as possible to help build a community around Jess during this difficult time.
