Hi, I’m Brooke Barrett—founder of Oasis Beauty Company, and a proud, Black, disabled woman entrepreneur. In 2019, my life changed forever when I was struck by a car and left a quadriplegic and legally blind. I was a hairstylist at 22 with big dreams, but after eight months of hospitals and rehab, I had to relearn everything—life, faith, and purpose.
That’s when Oasis Beauty Company was born: a fully inclusive and disability-friendly beauty salon created by someone who knows what it feels like to be overlooked in traditional spaces.

Oasis Beauty Company is more than just a salon. It’s a safe haven—a space where wheelchair users, the blind and low vision community, seniors, and people with other disabilities can feel beautiful, seen, and celebrated. From wheelchair-accessible shampoo bowls and customized styling stations, to staff trained in disability sensitivity and empathy, everything is designed with love, purpose, and dignity in mind.
With your support, we’ll make history in Charlotte, NC as one of the first salons in the Southeast fully dedicated to accessibility and beauty equity.
Your donation will help us:
• Fund construction for ADA-accessible spaces
• Purchase adaptive salon equipment
• Provide disability inclusion training for staff
• Launch transportation support for clients in need
Our initial fundraising goal is $10,000, but our stretch goal is $25,000 to fully build out the dream.

I believe beauty should be for every body. Thank you for helping me prove that accessibility is beautiful—and that everyone deserves to be pampered, regardless of ability.
Let’s build this together.
