With a deeply personal mission to alleviate pain, my entrepreneurial journey led to the founding of Scrambler Therapy UK Ltd, born from the transformative experience with my daughter's condition CRPS in November 2023. We had to travel to Germany for treatment as it’s not available in the uk .At the heart of this fundraising is the desire to offer hope and practical solutions for those suffering from chronic pain.

6 yrs into our CRPS journey and currently just come back from Germany (Jan 2025) as our daughter had loss the use of her right hand. In Nov 24, during a driving lesson Bethany started to feel discomfort in her right arm ( she has no feeling in right foot so has hand controls for acceleration and breaking), the next day she struggled to open both hands and was in excruciating pain. Over the coming weeks the pain didn’t give up, she and I were awake every 2 hrs in the night, the pain is relentless all day, she’s exhausted, frustrated, angry, confused and as we know already there’s no medication out there that works to eliminate this

This worked well on Bethany’s leg in 2023. We will be heading back to Germany 15/3/2025 for 3 weeks. We are hoping that this time we can get her into remission and pain free. Bethany developed Complex Regional Pain Syndrome after a slight bang to her right knee in February 2019. The condition is relentless and causes pain in the affecting limb equivalent to ‘ Unmedicated Childbirth’ ( The McGill Pain Scale) 

Why should we have to pay £££ thousands of pounds to get treatment outside the UK our NHS England is not wanting to acknowledge the treatment exits and since May 2024 Bethany’s been no physiotherapist appointment and the answer I got on the phone last week 30th Jan, she has only been on the list for 26 weeks and waiting list is 40 weeks!!!! After mentioning the above to her previous paediatric physiotherapist and her contacting the team Bethany’s under we miraculously got a physio appointment. She was wonderful with Bethany and saw her as whole person and not the condition!! ( You would think that should be how all medical professionals are but believe me it’s not the case). Our face to face appointment with her consultant wasn’t a good experience at all. He is refusing to offer any support or intervention because we are seeking this therapy!!! 

Since leaving the wonderful care at Royal Manchester Children's Hospital and transition to adult services at the Walton centre in Liverpool we have began to realise how adult care is vastly different and people are just a number on the list!! Most GP Practice’s don’t understand or even know what CRPS is. I am passionate about bringing this treatment to the UK to help others he #scramblertherapyukltd but it’s proving difficult to get anyone’s attention ☹️✈️
