Hi Friends,

My name is Debbie and I am raising funds for my dear friend LuAnn Nichols and her dear husband, Rick. I met Luann when volunteering at Resource Health in Kansas City. LuAnn is an incredible friend, teacher, mentor, and advocate for women both at her job as Education Coordinator at Resource Health in Independence and in her personal life as wife, mom, grandma, Bible study leader and example for all of a women whose heart is after God and wants above all to serve Him well. She is an Eschet Chayil - a woman of valor.

LuAnn and Rick are now in a time of crisis and in need of those who love them to come along beside them and offer whatever we can to help them through this time in their lives. This will be financial support as you are able, but also prayers for God's provision, guidance and protection over their lives.

Here are the details:

Rick was diagnosed with dementia in August 2021. He is now in skilled nursing to see if physical and occupational therapy will help him manage his normal daily activities.

LuAnn's melanoma (behind her right eye) was found in February 2023, with a radiation implant following in March 24-29, 2023. The scans she had in March showed innumerable small lesions throughout both lobes of her liver. Liver biopsy was performed on 4/3/24 indicating metastatic melanoma involving the liver - i.e. Stage 4 Liver Cancer. Chemotherapy does not touch this type of cancer. She will begin immunotherapy in the coming weeks.

Funds donated will be used to offset medical treatment costs for LuAnn and Rick and placement in a memory care "home" when needed for Rick.
