Let’s bless the West family

Hi there! My name is Amber Masterson and I am fundraising for Kendra West and her daughter, Yomari (with their approval).

Kendra and her husband, Sam, were married for 34 years. Kendra has served as a missionary in Nicaragua several times and through her time there, she was blessed with an amazing daughter named Yomari!

2022 hit their family with devastation when they went through a series of medical issues with her husband Sam. In August of 2022, he came home from work in excruciating pain and went directly to the ER. Doctors revealed that he needed emergency surgery to remove his gallbladder. With hopes this would help, they had his gallbladder removed yet the days to come continued to get worse. The pain he had felt was never relieved and in fact, continued to worsen. Doctor visits, ER visits, the nightmare continued only to find out near the end of 2022 that he had cancer. His cancer started in his lungs but continued to spread at rapid rate. Within days, he ended up in the hospital, only to be given the news that it was too far and they would not be able to do anything. He came home on hospice on January 6th and passed away less 24 hours later.

This is a family who has always worked hard, served others and shifted their lives to carry out the will of their Heavenly Father. Kendra is not one to ask for help. I have approached her several times asking how can I help? She has never once asked for anything other than prayer.

Through a series of conversations, I did find out she is needing to head back to Nicaragua in the coming days to deal with some business regarding their daughter. This trip will be expensive with airfare for both of them. The time they are there, they will also be serving in an orphanage that Yomari was once in.

Whether it’s $5 or $100, this money will be used to help Kendra and Yomari in the coming days of their life without Sam and this trip to Nicaragua.

My prayer is this will bless them far beyond anything they could ever think or imagine!
