Let’s Be Honest… Hockey is Expensive and Fundraisers are the Worst.
We said it. We all know it.
Yes, hockey is the best sport in the world — but also the most expensive. Ice time, gear, travel, tournaments, tape (so. much. tape)… it adds up faster than a breakaway goal.
Now here’s the part where we’d usually try to sell you tickets for a gift basket you don’t want, or convince you to attend a pancake breakfast at 7AM on a Saturday. But let’s be real: no one actually wants to buy another candle, eat dry spaghetti for a cause, or awkwardly dodge the kid holding a donation bucket outside the rink.
So this year, we’re keeping it simple: click, donate, done.
No junk drawers full of fundraiser leftovers. No guilt. Just helping some great kids chase big hockey dreams.
We’re trying to raise $10,000 to support our Metro Jets White 14U travel team — covering things like tournament fees, team development, and keeping our goalie in one piece (have you seen the price of pads?!).
If you can spare a few bucks, we’d be forever grateful. And if you can’t, that’s okay too — just share this with someone who hates fundraisers as much as you do.
Thanks for supporting youth hockey, and for helping us avoid another round of “Guess How Many M&Ms Are in the Jar.” (Fair warning, if we don’t hit our goal we hold the right to make you eat that spaghetti!)
Go Jets!
