Bert.

This is what neglect looks like. This is what FAILURE looks like. And we are so, so tired of watching it happen again and again while people just walk by.

Last night Bert came into our care but for YEARS he walked the streets like this. YEARS. In pain. Alone. Abandoned.

LOOK AT HIS FACE.

His eyes are like this because of severe, untreated injuries. His skin has pulled so tight while desperately trying to heal itself that his eyelids have deformed. He can’t blink. He can’t close his eyes. He can’t sleep. Imagine the constant pain. The irritation. The burning. Every second of every day, for YEARS.

And what did people do?

NOTHING.

They watched hi walk past their windows, past their gardens, bleeding, broken, infected — and did NOTHING.

HOW? HOW CAN YOU IGNORE THIS?

Because he was just another stray? Just another ‘feral’? Just another nameless, unwanted animal not worth the effort?

Well, not anymore.

His name is Bert now. And while everyone else turned away, we won’t. Even though we are broken too financially exhausted, emotionally drained, burnt out beyond words we will not give up on him.

He is in hospital now, finally receiving treatment. But we have no foster home for him. No money left in the pot. And more cats keep coming, more broken souls keep landing on our doorstep because no one else gives a damn.

We are angry. We are devastated. We are DONE being polite.

This cruelty is not bad luck. It’s not nature. It’s people’s neglect. People’s laziness. People’s failure to do something as simple as neuter a cat, call for help, open a door. And it happens EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

Bert fought for years to stay alive while humans looked away.

He deserves better. He deserves peace. He deserves safety. He deserves to finally close his eyes without pain.

We urgently need a foster home in London.

We desperately need donations to cover his mounting medical costs.

We’re not asking for a miracle. We’re asking for BASIC compassion. Do what others wouldn’t. Help us save him.
