Tate: the father, the firefighter, the veteran and the handyman. As many of you know, he found out he didn't have wings the other day and we are blessed he doesn't still due to Carol being present at the right time. Tate was working on his camper when he suddenly fell off, and we are blessed he is still with us. He has recently retired from the fire department after 25 years of helping other. Before that he was a combat medic for the Navy, but spent most of this time working closely with the Marines.
Since his retirement, Tate has started doing things around the lake. This way he can still work while doing what he loves; helping people. When he fell he fractured his lumbar spine and fractured ribs, requiring emergency surgery after being air lifted to UT Medical Center. He will remain there until next week, when he starts his long road to recover at a rehab facility in Augusta, Georgia that specializes in Spinal Cord rehabilitation.
The Money raised will go to help cover the cost of the ride to the hospital, his extensive time spent at UT Medical, and his day to day expense. It will also help give some relief to his loving wife and kids.
