Hello. Our names are George Apostolou aka DJ La Vie and Frances Kioussis. We are sharing this fundraiser to help our friend of 30 years Denise Kardaris aka Soula.
She is a single mother of 2 wonderful boys and she is dying of cancer.
The doctors have given her 6 to 12 months to live.
Her battle with cancer began in 2021 when she was diagnosed with Cervical Adenocarcinoma. After 25 radiation sessions, 3 rounds of chemotherapy, and 3 surgeries the tumor shrunk and she dared to dream that she would watch her boys grow up. They were only 11 and 12 years old.
Unfortunately, her dreams and hopes came crashing down when she was told her cancer had returned - and with a vengeance. It is stage 4, it is aggressive, incurable and it has metastasized to both her lungs and possibly her bones - she's waiting for an MRI to determine if a mass they found in her spinal cord is cancerous.
Although there is no cure for her type of cancer, she refuses to believe that she has only months left to spend with her children. She is willing to do ANYTHING, go ANYWHERE, and meet ANYONE who can help her live a little longer. Help her watch her children grow just a little more.

Unfortunately, she is losing the battle against cancer as she is running out of treatment options. She is allergic to the immunotherapy drugs which almost killed her and sent her to the hospital for a month and into a coma. Afterward, she was on so many steroids that she gained 60 pounds and also got myopathy in her leg muscles and has had to use a walker since. In the past months, she has almost died 4 times. Last month she also developed an allergy to the Platin family of chemotherapy drugs - Carboplatin and Cisplatic and she had to be resuscitated during chemotherapy. She is now using a much weaker chemotherapy drug called Topotecan which only has a 14% to 18 % success rate.
Her only hope is to reconvene her Naturopathic treatments which had started to help her in the past but which she had to stop after a while as she ran out of money. These treatments - Ozone and Ultra Violet Blood Irradiation, Vitamin C IV drips, Artesunate IV drips, Mistletoe Injections, and numerous supplements cost thousands of dollars a month and are NOT covered by OHIP.
