Let's ALL HELP Buddy Fight Cancer!!

Hello Friends and Family.

My dear friend, Carl “Buddy” Aanderud, has been recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

For those of you who know Buddy, you know that he is one of the kindest, hardworking, faith-driven, people-loving persons I know. He is the person who makes friends with everyone he meets and who would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needs it. He was often referred to as the “Mayor of Manassas” by his closest friends because everyone knows Buddy!

We have been friends for over 30 years, and those years include our families, our business as “Two Fat Men Construction” (he is the other fat man), and now, working side by side together in the IT world. He really is my “brother from another mother.”

Buddy will begin chemo this week and will continue treatments for 12 weeks. Then, the next step will be to have surgery to remove all of the remaining cancer. He, as well as his family and doctors, are very optimistic about this procedure, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t affect him and his family mentally and financially. His wife, Dione, will be stepping away from her teaching career (temporarily) to be his support and caregiver during this time of need.

Although Buddy and his family would never be ones to ask for any help, I know from personal experience with cancer that medical bills start to mount as well as pay cuts from work changes during treatments. I remember how much it helped me when I needed it most, and I’m asking for us to rally together and help him and his family during this time of need. ANY amount helps. Not only monetary donations, but lots of good vibes and prayers while he fights this battle called cancer.

He has a long road ahead of him, but he is ready and still smiling through it all... just like Buddy always does!
