For many years, David Simpson has been the go-to person to call in all sorts of emergencies, for me and for countless others.

This is Dave's emergency. He is now facing stage 4 esophageal cancer.

Dave has helped and inspired many of us. He performed and mixed at Grendel's Lair, JC Dobbs, and many local clubs during Philadelphia's rock & roll heyday.

Dave has worked as a master blues singer & guitarist, recording engineer and tech support wizard at Sigma Sound Studios, “Touch of Jazz”, and Sorcerer Sound NYC., and most of all as a selfless man who lives to help people in need. Dave was the first act ever booked to play at the legendary Khyber Pass, and the last musician to perform onstage at the original JC Dobbs.

All funds raised will support Dave's medical care and enable him to save his home from foreclosure.

Dave has quietly helped many people for years, giving freely of his money, time, and spirit.

Now it's his turn.

Right now, Dave is unable to work as an electrician. But he continues to write and record music in his home studio, collaborating with musicians both locally and remotely to create indelible new songs.

Dave entered my life a dozen years ago when a friend recommended him for electrical work. He quickly became a close friend and teacher, who has guided me through some of life's greatest challenges. He is always willing to listen, and to share his wisdom and time with people in need. Dave’s relentless positivity, humor, and faith have been a lesson on how to live and love.
