Let's take care of the Lynds

On September 3rd, Jen and Scott Lynds daughter Rachel was in a terrible car accident near Clarion. Rachel was lifeflighted to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh where she underwent a series of emergency surgeries for a large laceration on her head, reconstruction of her ear, and two fingers. We are so very lucky she is still with us.
Rachel is an incredible young woman, having graduated high school a year ahead of schedule, enrolling in college as a bright seventeen-year-old freshman.
The Lynds are truly one of the most community minded families we have ever had the pleasure of calling friends. Scott, Jen, Rachel, Mark and Jack. They are the first to jump at an opportunity to help someone in need - from a small random act of kindness, to a full-on volunteer campaign for local organizations, including food pantries and backpack programs to help kids that may otherwise go without. They always rise to the occasion without a single thought of getting anything in return.
We've had so many people reach out to ask what they can do to help after yesterdays accident. Rachel is a tough, strong, caring young lady that has a long uphill battle of recovery ahead of her. There are many unknowns. Once she is home, she will need to travel to Pittsburgh weekly for care. Further surgeries may also be needed, and it is unclear what procedures will be covered by their insurance. Jen will also be taking time off work to be by her side. We are asking those that have asked what they can do to consider donating to this family that constantly gives back to our community. 100% of all funds raised will go directly to expenses incurred in Rachel's recovery.
Speaking in terms of all the volunteer work they do for others, I always hear Jen quietly say with a smile, "It takes a village". We couldn't agree more, and hope you'll join us in returning the favor.
