Dear Friends and Family,
In November 2018, Crysta began to experience a serious and painful swelling of her entire right leg. After 2 Emergency Room visits, a 4 day hospital stay, and numerous appointments with various specialists, she was referred to Roswell Park. The weeks to follow included multiple medical appointments, tests, scans, a biopsy and the very difficult diagnosis of Stage III Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma. The diagnosis of cancer in an otherwise healthy 25 year old woman shakes your world.
We couldn't have imagined this turn of events, but here we are. The prognosis is good; however, Crysta will need to undergo R-CHOP chemotherapy for the next several months. Unfortunately, per the doctor's orders, Crysta is unable to work in the school setting due to the risk of possible infections.
For those of you who know Crysta, you know that she is a loving daughter, sister, girlfriend, and friend. Just at the beginning of her career, she is a full-time Art teacher at an Alternative school. Her energy will now have to turn to health and healing during 4 months of treatment.
We are gratefully accepting donations to assist in supporting Crysta's household expenses, medical bills, and any other challenges that treatment may bring. Please feel free to share this link with your friends and family, as we all rally around Crysta as she braves this battle!
Thank you everyone, for your love and support!
