Wow...What a year! Just over a year ago, Shannon & Wes tied the knot in a beautiful celebration & storybook beginning of their life together. For those of us close to Shannon especially, it was a day long hoped for. Wes has been everything we have prayed for and more! We have spent this last year celebrating and rejoicing over their story. They have spent the last year doing the same and dreaming of spending their 1 year anniversary together in Italy as a belated honeymoon.
Shannon lost her youngest son, Rayshawn, to cancer five years ago. It was a long, painful journey filled with heartbreak but it was Shannon herself that exemplified the strength of Christ to many of us. And it was the impact of Ray's light that daily fills many of us with hope and gave Shannon strength and joy. Time has passed and while the pain is still present, healing was beginning to do its work and take root in our hearts.
Many of you may have heard that on Monday, September 16, 2019, Shannon's oldest son, Isaiah, took his own life. In an incomprehensible moment that still does not seem real, Shannon lost a sweet boy, again. And again, she has shown us what it looks like to lean on the Lord in her most difficult moments.
It's hard to fathom giving this family anything that could ease the pain of their loss. It simply isn't possible. But maybe, just maybe we can give them the gift of time and togetherness as they walk out their second year of marriage and grieve the loss of a beloved son.
Would you consider blessing Wes & Shannon with a gift towards this trip and time to adventure together? The funds collected will go directly to airfare, lodging, food and excursion fees for their Italy trip.
