Only three more weeks until I take off for my Discipleship Training School! I can not believe it is so close. The anticipation is building and I am getting really excited for this next season.
I graduated in 2017 and decided to pause for the next season to seek God for what He has for me in my future. I grew up in YWAM and loved it. However I did not just want to do a DTS because it was the easy thing to do or because it was familiar. In fact, I was quite resistant to the idea for those very reasons. I always said that I would do a DTS only in obedience to God. In the Spring of 2018 the interest and excitement for DTS started growing in my heart.
I was encouraged by friends and family do do my DTS somewhere other than in Montana. I applied for a DTS in Kona and was soon accepted.
Youth With A Mission's mission is to “To Know God and To Make Him Known." YWAM has more than 1,100 locations in over 180 countries and works to serve communities around the world.
The first three months will be the lecture phase where we will cover foundational topics in the faith. This is the part where we really dive in and get to know God. The next phase is the outreach phase where we will be sent overseas to share our faith.
There will be a lot of preparations that will need to happen before I am ready to go and one is raising finances. Would you please consider supporting me financially? I raised some of the finances I will need from working three jobs this year. The rest of it I am raising through partnering with family and friends. I still need around $3000 towards my DTS. This includes my outreach and lecture phase.
