Let's send LaDene' and Skylar to Washington D.C.!

Hello community!
Let's show some love and send these two amazing girls to Washington D.C.! They are both raising money to join their 8th grade class trips led by their teachers and WorldStrides student travel. Each trip costs about $1,500.
These two girls ACHIEVE EVERY DAY and deserve this opportunity!
Students who travel are more likely to attend college, have higher GPA and SAT scores, have higher levels of self-confidence, and a stronger sense of identity and community. Skylar and LaDene' are creative, responsible, caring, and hard working. They are leaders every day in their schools and at our community center. Let's give them the resources they need to experience Washington D.C. Maybe the next time you hear about them they will be running for office and you can vote for them on your local ballot!

My name is Skylar and I’m in 8th grade at O’Keeffe Middle School. At home my mom is our major source of income but she drives the school bus so she obviously doesn’t earn enough for four people, and this trip is expensive! My mom wants us to learn more about the world. This would be the first time I go anywhere without my mom, which would be good to do before high school.
I love history and in Washington D.C. there’s a lot of historical things that would be amazing to see in person like the Holocaust Museum, Lincoln Monument, Meridian Hill Park, Ford’s theater, the National Arboretum, and of course the White house. It would also be fun to get to know my friends while getting to experience a new place, which are two of my favorite things to do.
Hi my name is LaDene’ and I’m an 8th grader at Whitehorse Middle School. I’m excited to travel far away from home and will probably be the first person in my family to go to D.C. If I get to go on this trip, I’m looking forward to seeing the U.S. Air Force Memorial, the Dr. Martin Luther King Memorial, and the Jamestown Settlement guided tour. We are learning about Jamestown in school and I would get to see it in real life. This will be my first time going out of state as a tourist, not just to visit family. I am excited to explore and learn new things and I heard we will go on a real ship. I will create memories with my friends and be inspired about colleges for my future.

Their trips are in June but the funds are due in monthly installments starting in early December. Let's do a beautiful thing and send these future leaders to Washington D.C.
Thank you so much for reading and extra huge thank you if you donate! Please share with your networks.
Love,
Skylar, LaDene', and Carrie (their Goodman Community Center after-school teacher)
