In these incredibly uncertain and unusual times, we are all feeling the impact of making responsible decisions for the health and safety of our community.
To keep our dancers safe, Sacramento Dance Center had initially suspended operations temporarily. Now it seems that the closure may be much longer than originally anticipated, possibly extending for a few months. In light of the new situation, I am reaching out to my fellow dancers to help the studio stay solvent and make it through successfully.
Dance is love. It's my love...an expression of heart and soul that cannot be replicated in any other way. It's love of your partner, of your friends, and of the greater community. It is energy and light, therapy and education, connection and movement...dance is life.
Sacramento Dance Center is a second home for many of us, and a home to whomever enters for however long they stay. A place of joy, learning, and friendship. Especially in this stressful and bleak situation, we need to make sure that our home is still there when the dust settles. We need to have hope and something to look forward to- a light in the dark.
Dance studios typically have very small profit margins, and the current owners have only had the studio for about a year. They are doing everything they can to keep us dancing (videos, online classes, and virtual lessons are available!), but we the patrons need to come together to help keep the studio going! I am hopeful that we can raise about $10,000. This money goes to cover bills for the studio space only, it does not cover the loss of income for our beloved teachers and staff.
I am asking you to consider contributing to this effort, and I believe that together we can meet the goal. A lot or a little, every donation will help keep SDC- our home- open. So that when the time comes, we can DANCE.
