Let's lighten the load for our lovely Liana

Our sister Liana was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and this came as a huge shock to everyone. No one deserves to have this horrible disease, especially not someone who puts everyone else before herself. Our family feels this pain with her and given we mostly live away from Liana in Sydney, there is only so much support we can provide from here. We know her husband Steve will do all he can and will do an amazing job, but we are hoping to lighten the stress as much as we can by raising some funds for Liana, Steve and their beautiful kids Niko and Marina. Funds will go to medical costs, housecleaning, extra childcare and things Liana can do to relax or treat herself.

We are hoping to have some fun with the fundraiser and do it a bit differently. We are recruiting friends and family to get on board by committing to shave their heads, the more funds we raise, the more people that will commit. We have set a reserve price that we won't reveal until we reach it - but if we do - then one of the females in the family will shave their locks! This person has sworn they never would, but a huge donation amount is sure to change that. I urge everyone to nominate someone to shave their head for this awesome cause or make a donation instead.

We are organising a get together within the next month to get all of the volunteers shaved on the night. We will give everyone the chance to bid on a noggin they want to shave. We will also have some items to auction off for those who look much better with their hair.

EDIT - WOW, what an amazing response in such a short time. We will get back to everyone to say thank you once we close the fundraiser but a quick note to say Liana has been blown away by the generous donations, support and kind words.

Final Edit - Our dad Pejo has been added to the fundraising team to assist with withdrawing the funds. Liana and the family stay with mum and dad when in Canberra so by adding dad to the team Liana can keep up to date with the fundraiser. Just thought I'd let everyone know incase any updates come through from dad for those that don't know him.
