Our friend Wendy was diagnosed 2 days before Christmas.

 Leiomyosarcoma is a rare type of cancer that affects smooth muscle tissue. Wendy has already had extensive surgery and is currently having chemotherapy to fight this disease.

This means an unpaid leave from work along with an uncertain future. While such a diagnosis would be emotionally and physically draining for anyone,  the unplanned financial burden is something we never really think of.  However, it is something we could all try to help with. 

Wendy is a mother, partner, friend, hardworking dental office receptionist, softball player and lover of wine, fishcakes, and all things from her home province of Newfoundland.
