Let's help the 10-month-old Kubus

Let's help the 10-month-old Kubus!

Kubus was born healthy (10 points on the Apgar scale), a lovely little boy, bringing a lot of joy and happiness to his parents. During the first half of the year Kubus developed properly - he lifted his head, reacted to stimuli, smiled beautifully, was interested in his surroundings. Nothing foretold such tragic moments, which soon afterwards took place.
In January this year, Kubus's parents were worried about a strange, intense hiccup, accompanied by him throwing his hands forward and loss of consciousness (no contact with the child and no reaction to stimuli). They immediately went with Kuba to the hospital, where he received treatment aimed at the seizures. In spite of administering a whole series of very strong drugs (Depakine, Vetira, Sabril) with antiepileptic effect, the seizures started to repeat and intensify. This is the result of drug resistance. Each seizure is very dangerous for the life and health of the baby - it can cause hypoxia of the brain, which in turn causes neurological regression. Kuba's head has stopped lifting. His pretty face doesn't show that wonderful, childish smile anymore. An MRI is being performed. He's diagnosed with the WEST SYNDROM-
Kubus has already been treated in 4 hospitals, including the Children's Health Centre in Warsaw. Currently, apart from the above mentioned drugs, he takes very painful intramuscular injections with steroid imported from abroad and undergoes intensive and expensive rehabilitation.

Kuba's parents are doing everything they can to control the seizures and, above all, to make their son grow up to be a happy child and, in the future, an independent person. As the possibilities of treating West's syndrome in Poland are very limited - Kuba's mother found out about all available treatment possibilities abroad. She found a clinic that effectively carries out stem cell therapy, which gives a chance to at least partially regenerate the brain damage that can be seen in the MRI image. She has also established contact with parents of children suffering from West's Syndrome, like Kubus, who managed to go with their children to this clinic for therapy. They fully confirm its effectiveness. Unfortunately, the cost of such therapy (not including plane tickets and additional costs) is as much as $33,000, which significantly exceeds the financial possibilities of the family. If the required amount of money could be collected, Kubuś could fly out for stem cell therapy already in June (after the end of steroid therapy)! This means fighting against time, which plays an extremely important role in the development of such a small child. Every day of delay can be inexorable and tragic in consequences we would not allow this to happen!
That's why I am addressing all people with a huge desire for a good will and a good heart! Please, let us help to give the most beautiful gift to Kuba for his first birthday - a happy and, above all, Healthy Childhood! First steps , first words, please, let's help restore this wonderful beautiful smile.

Half of the amount for the treatment is already collected but still about 17 thousand euro is needed. Even such a small amount as 5 euros counts. It makes a difference.
For all, even the smallest payments on behalf of the parents and Kubus THANK YOU!

What is West's  Syndrom?

It's an epileptic disorder that results from brain damage. The disease occurs in children and infants and is a severe and difficult to treat condition. A characteristic feature of West's syndrome is a follicular seizure at different frequencies and a progressive psychomotor retardation of the child, which is the result of damage to nerve structures. Seizures occur in series and often occur when the child wakes up from sleep or falls asleep. We can only imagine the pain of such a little man :( The effect of the lack of appropriate treatment for West's syndrome is another symptom... inhibition of psychomotor and intellectual development. Epileptic seizures are very dangerous in such a small child. They can cause irreversible changes in the brain. SO LET'S HELP KUBUS!
