Hello everyone! Thank you for taking your time to read Ryker's story.
Ryker was born with club foot on his right side. Soon after birth, he was put into casts to help straighten his foot and he under went surgery at 6 months old. They clipped his achilles tendon allowing it to grow longer. Once healed, he had to sleep in boots and bars. Now, 3 years later, he needs surgery again, only now on both feet. The club foot needs a repeat of the same surgery, meanwhile the other foot requires a surgery called gastrocks recession. This should hopefully correct these conditions.
Prior to any of these upcoming surgeries, Ryker will need weekly casting on both feet to manipulate the ligaments into proper positioning. All of this will be taking place in Saskatoon, with his orthopaedic surgeon.
All donations will be helping Ryker's single mother, to offset some of the costs of gas, meals, hotel rooms, medications and any other expenses that may be required post-op, such as casts, splints, physiotherapy and follow up appointments.
Ryker is expected to have the surgery sometime in March, however medical trips to Saskatoon have already begun.
